Transparency in manufacturing robots with RoboLive® from Dressler Automation - Expo Smart Marktplatz
Dressler Automation

The level of automation in modern robot-supported manufacturing systems continues to increase. In order to enable both system integrators and operators to handle the associated amounts of information more efficiently, Dressler Automation has developed the RoboLive® solution. The company, which is supported by the state of Lower Saxony, is thus continuing to advance the digitalization of production, robot programming and quality assurance.

In order to carry out manufacturing processes as precisely as possible and with a high cycle time, more and more industrial robots are being used in production plants. As their number increases, so does the amount of data to be processed, which presents the responsible employees with immense challenges and further exacerbates the prevailing shortage of skilled workers. Since Dressler Automation has been working as a system integrator in the electrical sector for over 50 years, it is familiar with this problem. For this reason, the German-American company has developed RoboLive®, its solution for the commissioning, analysis and quality assurance of robot-supported manufacturing systems.

Five elements simplify the identification, elimination and prevention of weak points, support project planning and automate the documentation of work results. Process visualization enables monitoring of project planning and production as well as breaking out of the iterative quality assurance cycle. Everyone involved has access to the same data basis for their analyzes and can therefore initiate targeted corrections and monitor their implementation. The integrated best-fit algorithm and the zero point determination element significantly reduce the effort involved in optimizing and changing the systems. With the software overview, data relevant to planning is bundled and made available in one document. Path calibration shifts part of the scope of work from the plant to the office, speeds up commissioning and enables the digital twin to be connected to the real plant. All of this happens without any complex rework or time-consuming system measurements. The robot documentation replaces unused and outdated archives that would require great effort to maintain and keep up to date.

According to Dressler Automation, the solution is already being used very successfully in the automotive industry on several continents. In order to further establish itself in Europe, RoboLive® will be represented at automatica in Munich for the first time this year. The solution can be found at the joint stand Smart Maintenance Pavilion Hall B6.
